Need a Hospital Notary in NYC?
When a loved one is in a hospital, nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or assisted living facility, getting documents notarized can feel like one more complicated task during an already stressful time.
A mobile notary can travel directly to the signer, making the notarization process more convenient when leaving the facility is difficult or impossible.
CSS INK NOTARY provides mobile notary services throughout New York City, including Queens, Manhattan, and Brooklyn, with select Bronx and surrounding-area appointments available upon request.
What Should You Have Ready?
Before the appointment, having a few things prepared can help the notarization go more smoothly.
Valid identification: The signer should have acceptable identification available for the appointment.
The document: Have the document ready, but avoid signing ahead of time when the signature needs to be witnessed by the notary.
Witnesses, if required: Some documents may require witnesses in addition to notarization. Let me know beforehand if witnesses are needed so the requirements can be discussed before the appointment.
Facility information: Provide the hospital or facility name, address, room or floor when available, and any visitor or check-in instructions.
The Signer Must Be Able to Participate
A notary must communicate directly with the signer and determine whether the notarization can lawfully proceed.
Being located in a hospital or nursing facility does not automatically prevent someone from having a document notarized. However, the notary cannot proceed when the circumstances do not allow the required notarial act to be properly completed.
A notary also cannot provide legal advice or determine whether a document is appropriate for the signer.
Common Hospital and Facility Requests
Mobile notary appointments may involve documents such as powers of attorney, affidavits, healthcare-related documents, estate-planning documents, authorization forms, and other documents requiring notarization.
The exact requirements depend on the document and the notarial act requested.
